This is a new page, in response to people asking us, "but what can I do to help the housing crisis?"
Each 4-8 home development that NTHT builds costs at least $1 million.
We have achieved most of our building to date thanks to a combination of philanthropic and government capital grants, conventional mortgages and some community contributions.
NTHT, as a charitable trust (a non-profit, or "profit for purpose" organisation), intends to operate all properties it owns in perpetuity for the purpose of affordable/social housing. If the NTHT Board, on occasion, decides to sell a house, the proceeds will always be reinvested to provide more housing for people in need.
It's easy to make a donation to Nelson Tasman Housing Trust (Registered Charity # CC21439):
The following wording is only a guide and NTHT recommends you consult your solicitor.
“I give to Nelson Tasman Housing Trust (Registered Charity number CC21439), 329 Trafalgar Square East, Nelson 7010:
and I direct that:
(i) The proceeds may be used for the general purposes of Nelson Tasman Housing Trust (NTHT), and
(ii) A receipt signed by a person authorised by the Board of NTHT shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors.”
Thank-you for your kind donation!
