We are delighted to announce that we've signed a contract to buy two properties in Totara St, Nelson, on which we plan to build six new rental homes. The sites at 6 and 8 Totara St are being sold by the Nelson City Council. Each section currently has a single old house on it. Our plan is to redevelop these adjoining sections and build a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes (see image above). The Nelson City Council has approved a proposal to make $2 million of its housing reserve fund available for housing projects catering for low-to-moderate income households. Nelson Tasman Housing Trust director Carrie Mozena told councillors she strongly supported the proposal, at a council meeting this week. She said it would accelerate the building of more affordable housing in Nelson. The trust had a project ready to apply with, which would deliver 5 homes, she said. Here is a Stuff article...
